Colic is typically defined as a baby crying for three straight hours, at least three days a week, and lasting for three weeks or more. It generally starts in the second or third week of an infant’s life, and usually ends by about three months. Some common colic treatments and solutions include swaddling, the colic carry, rhythmic rocking, swinging, and pacifiers.
